Identity Festival San Diego 2012!

Hey guys!! Identity Festival was yesterday and I had a BLAST!!! I just wanted to show you my makeup, nails and outfit and talk about the event a little today. It was BEAUTIFUL day in San Diego, I think it was 85-90 degrees and it felt sooo hot it the sun! My outfit was very neon so I decided to do my makeup very bright as well, perfect for a summer rave! One of my favorite parts about going to music festivals is dressing up and doing my makeup! My camera battery died right after I took some close-up shots of my eyes (in the car before we even got there). So I didn't get as many pictures but still took some with my phone!

Rainbow!!! This look is inspired by Vintage or Tacky's Midnight Rainbow tutorial, as soon as I watched it I knew it would be perfect! I pretty much did the exact same thing for the eyes using some NYX Pigments (Yellow, Orange, Red, Green), a purple, pink and nude from my 120 palette and Sugarpill Afterparty. I'm also wearing Sugarpill's Baby Dewdrop EyeLashes... I LOOOVE them!!! They are dramatic and the little gems draw even MORE attention to your eyes! They are very comfortable and light weight so your eyes don't feel heavy all night!
For the fishnet pattern on my face, I put some old fishnets over my head and applied Lumiere's Sparkle Turquoise Prismatic eyeshadow with a flat top brush. This shadow looks white but it has a turquoise duochrome, which you can really see over black but I like the effect it gave over my skin. It was subtle but depending on the lighting you could really see it sparkle!
Here's my outfit! Your typical raver fluffies, fishnets, kandi and lots of neon colors!! I'm also wearing my new handmade jewelry from the Esty shop The Funky Junky - you seriously NEED to check out her stuff! It is soo unique and fun! My heart necklace is made with a REAL marijuana leaf and my bangle is made with real pills!!
It was sooo hot and since I shouldn't be in the sun (I get an itchy rash if I'm in directlight sunlight for a while), I decided to bring an umbrella. I can't believe I was the ONLY one with an umbrella...I guess I can't hang with all the crazy people that like to be in the sun! Notice how I'm sitting in a tiny spot of shade in the photo above? WELL I still got a rash, I've been trying to avoid scratching my arms all day :(
Of course I can't forget  MY NAILS!!! I decided to do a neon gradient with some sparkle! I used Essie Blanc as the white base, then Color Club Volt of Light, Electro Candy and Pure Energy, and Essie Carnival on top (those are perfect names for music festivals too haha).
Identity was way more fun than I expected! I was a little iffy about the venue (Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre in Chula Vista) because I hadn't been there since a Spice Girls concert (LMAO) but it Is seriously PERFECT for a rave, it was super packed too! I went with my boyfriend and was hoping to run into some friends but didn't (it's always so hard to find people when it's crowded). We stayed the the Rockstar Stage instead of the main stage the majority of the time and the music was soooo so GOOD! First we saw Kerli, she was so cute and sweet! Then we walked around, met up with my boyfriend's friends and chilled. I was pretty disappointed with Le Castle Vania's set...it was sounding pretty good but then he totally fucked up, it was so obvious the whole moan :/ then he played a couple of good song (typical) and didn't remix or anything cool with the songs!!! WTF I could tell he was having a hard time bringing the crowd back and THEN guess what he decided to do? They weren't letting anymore people into the pit and Le Castle Vania goes "FUCK IT everyone hop the fence and come down!" So a TON of people rushed down, security gave up for a couple minutes. Then he's "the promoters are gunna kill me" haha I bet!!

My favorite set of the night was hands down DOCTOR P, he was AMAZING and played that filthy, grimey, dubstep I freaking LOVE! Next up was Noisia and I was pleasantly surprised! They threw down good-ass drum n bass, and some legit dubstep too...let had me on a good one! Showtek played after them...Showtek is the shit and I love their hardstyle but I feel like they've been playing more house/electro stuff to please the crowd, but their set wasn't bad! Excision closed the night and I was a little disappointed but he played what I expected. His style and sound is a little slower not like, LET'S RAGE! So I didn't really like it for ending the party, but I suppose it was a good way to cool down. Overall I had an AMAZING time, I wish they would do more electronic music festivals at this place!

Thanks for reading!!! I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what you think of my makeup and outfit (I think this is the first raver outfit I've ever showed you guys hehe)! I can't wait for the next event, it's coming up soon! :D
