One of my favorite products to try are deep conditioners for my hair! I have tried A LOT of different brands and unfortunately don’t notice a dramatic difference in my hair from most. My favorite deep conditioner (Macadamia Deep Repair Masque) is really expensive so I’m still looking for a cheaper alternative. LUSH H’suan Wen Hua is for “out-of-condition” hair, my hair isn’t in that bad of shape but treating your hair to a nice conditioner never hurts so I decided to give it a whirl!
H’suan Wen Hua can be found at any Lush store or online. This hair moisturizer is pretty expensive, $19.95 for 7.9 oz...depending on how long your hair is you may only get 1 to 5 uses out of it. I like packaging, it is easy to scoop out a bunch of product and apply it to your hair. I also love that Lush has a recycling program so you can receive a free Fresh Face Mask when you return 5 of these black pots. This product is only fresh about 4 months so remember to keep in mind the expiration date.

You are supposed to generously apply to dry hair, leave on for 20 to 30 minutes and then shampoo out. This is the first deep conditioner I’ve used that your apply to DRY hair, which was really interesting! Make sure your hair is brushed before applying this then you can evenly distribute it with a wide tooth comb. Lush recommends using about a quarter of a pot for short hair or about half a pot for longer hair. Since my hair is short I got 5 uses out of this entire pot.
This is a super nutritious “hair food” for your strung out locks! Contains avocados which are nutritious and softening. Balsamic vinegar keeps your hair sleek, shiny and bright. Eggs are packed with nutritious proteins and coat the hair with a protective film. Watercress infusion that is high in vitamins and increases the tensile strength of your hair. Bay leaf infusion is stimulating, toning and clarifying for your scalp. It smells REALLY strongly of cinnamon/clove, which I don’t mind!

This product contains a lot of beneficial ingredients but it also contains some not-so-good like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Parabens. I’ve been trying to avoid these ingredients but I’ve read a few articles recently that say sulfates and parabens aren’t really that bad, plus studies are still inconclusive to how harmful these ingredients really are.
I really wanted to love this hair moisturizer but it was nothing special. My expectation are high because I always get “dramatic” results when I use my Macadamia Deep Repair...it makes my hair A LOT less frizzy, feels sooo soft and shiny just like new. Unfortunately H’suan Wen Hua did not give me these results. My hair pretty much felt the same every time I used it :(
H’suan Wen Hua gets a lot of rave reviews so I hate to say I don’t recommend it but from my experience I don’t! I had really high hopes but it did not give me the results I was looking for. I think it is pretty expensive especially if you have long hair you may only get 2 uses out of it. And it contains SLS and parabens which I prefer to avoid. That’s my review, hope it was helpful!
Ps. Did you hear about Lush’s new makeup line Emotional Brilliance?! I got invited my local Lush’s launch party next Friday so I plan on taking LOTS of pictures and covering the event for you guys! The new makeup looks really cool (but ridiculously overpriced) so I’ll see what it is all about!
