I have a love-hate relationship with Inglot’s AMC Gel Eyeliner...it’s a really good eyeliner but I hate applying it. After reading a few reviews this sounded like the perfect eyeliner for my waterline (nothing lasts on my waterline, everything I’ve tried fades in a couple hours). So I decided to buy one of these and test it out for myself! Keeping reading for my full review...
Inglot’s Gel Eyeliners are long-lasting, waterproof and can be used as an eye shadow or body painting gel. They have a really good selection of colors, 20 different matte shades that range from yellow to white. I decided to get number 75 which is a dark purple. I didn’t have any purple liners and purple sometimes makes my blue eyes pop.
This is typical packaging for a gel liner, in plastic container with a lid that screws off. The only thing you have to be careful of is remembering to always screw on the lid tight when you’re done otherwise the product will dry up.
The price is $12 for 0.19 oz and can be purchased at any Inglot store or online (but unfortunately not to all countries). I think the price is very fair, compared to MAC’s gel liner which is $15 for only 0.1 oz. Inglot gives you a more product, more bang for your buck!
Before I talk about how it performs I want to talk about application. Inglot recommends their 30T Brush for application which is a bent eyeliner brush. I usually use my Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush with this but I’ve also tried applying it with a flat and angled eye liner brush. The bent eyeliner brush definitely works the best for me but I still have some issues...
Like I said above I haaate applying this gel liner because it dries SO FAST. It dries ridiculously fast on your brush AND skin. You have to work really fast and even then there still are some issues. The liner dries on your brush then gets clumpy and builds up making it hard to apply. To avoid this I usually have makeup remover towelettes to clean my brush if this happens. This liner goes on smoothly until it starts to dry, which is in about 15 seconds or less. Try not to make any mistakes because you cannot go over it because it drags and removes the liner if you do. Also if you make a mistake you need to fix it with makeup remover (not a q-tip and saliva like I usually do haha) because it does not budge! Which brings the best part of this product...
This gel eyeliner is very opaque, above is one swipe with an eyeliner brush over bare skin. And it definitely waterproof and long lasting like it claims!! Although it dries super-fast during application, this is what really gives it it’s staying power. This stuff does not smudge or fade after hours of wear, but it’s not perfect either. If you happen to rub your eyes this stuff likes to flake and crumble...it stays pretty well but will definitely flake off if you try hard enough. It also stays on my waterline very well, better than anything I’ve ever tried. It looks exactly like how you applied it after hours of wear. It is best to remove this with makeup remover not just a cleanser and water.
Now would I recommend this eyeliner? Yes and no...I love it for my waterline but I much prefer a liquid liner for my top lid. I always have issues applying it because it dries so fast but maybe I just need more practice. I do give it at A for staying power. I think I would only repurchase the black color and that’s it. So have you tired this Inglot eyeliner before, did you experience the same thing? If not what’s your favorite eyeliner for your waterline? Thanks for reading!
