This month’s Birchbox wasn’t too bad, I got some useful samples! Here’s my initial impression of everything...
Alterna BAMBOO UV+ Color Protection Fade-Proof Fluide:
This finishing gloss strengthens dry/brittle strands and protects colored treated from sun damage. Clinically proven to help your hair retain color and brightness for 60 washes. Made with organic bamboo which has amino acids to ehlp boost strength and flexibility. Kalahari extract helps black UV rays from oxidizing and fading your hair colors and fatty acids repair damage. Retails for $24 for 2.5 oz.
I haven’t used this yet because 1. I’m rarely in the sun, the only sunshine my hair gets is walking to and from my car to work everyday (maybe 10 minutes a day). 2. My hair color is really faded right now so I want to save this until my hair is freshly colored. 3. I will probably save this for days I may be in the sun for longer periods of time.
Supergoop! City Sunscreen Serum:
This is a moisturizer and broad-spectrum SPF 30 to fight the signs of premature aging and prevents future photo-damage from UV rays. Supergoop’s unique Hydrovotin 2 complex works with the skin’s own moisture mechanisms to increase hydration levels, while vitamins E and B5 heal past damage. PA +++ means the formula meets the highest standards for sun protection. It is a also mattifying formula. Retails for $42 for 1.6 oz.
First of all, what’s up with the name Supergoop?! That is a terrible name! BUT I am really interested in this and can’t wait to try it. Since we got only two small packs :( I’m saving it for a day I will be in the sun for longer. I’ve never tried a sunscreen serum and I think it’s great that it’s a mattifying formula. Seems like a great product but we'll see once I try it!
Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner:
London-based brand liquid liner that lets you create mod looks in a flash. Pen-style applicator that’s completely goofproof, and fade-proof formula will hold up day and night. Birchbox says it comes in two colors, Olive or Turquoise but I clearly received a purple. Retails for $15.
Woohoo a full size eyeliner! I REALLY like this applicator tip, almost better then my holy grail Physicians Formula Eye Booster Eyeliner tip. Only thing is this isn’t really fade proof, I noticed it fades by the end of my work day :( I really like it for workdays when I'm bored of my black eyeliner.
Harvey Prince Hello:
Oh Birchbox and your perfume samples...if you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know how I feel! I hate receive perfume samples EVERY month. I like the scent of this one but my boyfriend hates it, as usual!
Tea Forte Minteas:
Tea Forte has clever mints that have both wellness and breath-sweetening properties. All-natural and sugar-free, Minteas are infused with organic green tea, herbs and fruit extracts to give you an instant antioxidant boost.
These are really interesting! They don’t taste that great and this flavor, Ginger Pear, is supposed to help your brain focus. I don’t know about that but I do love that these are all natural and sugar free!
Birchbox Exclusive Earbuds:
I thought this was a pretty cool extra item to include...until I actually but them in to listen to some music and realized how shitty quality they were haha! I’ll probably keep this in my car in case I ever need a backup but this won’t be replacing my other earbuds. Cute colors though!
My favorite product this month is the Eyeko Eyeliner! I know people are tired of seeing these beauty subscription boxes but I still really enjoy them. As long as I'm happy and excited to try new products I'll stick with it. Also Birchbox is a great price at $10/month unlike Glossybox which was $23/month. Let me know what you think!
