Glominerals Protective Liquid Foundation Satin II Review

I haven’t found my Holy Grail foundation yet, there is so many I still want to try! I prefer medium to full coverage foundation since I have a lot of redness and acne scars to cover up. Glominerals Protective Foundation Satin II is a liquid mineral foundation infused with vitamins and antioxidants. It provides a buildable sheer to full coverage with a satin finish. I decided to try this foundation because I’ve seen Killer Colours use it and her skin always looks amazing and flawless in her photos. I had a gift card to Aphothica.com and it was on sale so I bought it! Overall I really love this foundation, keep reading for my full review!

This foundation provides seamless coverage, disguising discolorations and imperfections. The light-textured formula is non-comedogenic and ideal for all skin types. Contains an exclusive antioxidant blend of vitamin A, C, E and green tea extract. Infused with Aloe Vera, Chamomile and lavender to soothe, calm and condition skin. These are the “protective” properties, I really like using a foundation that contains beneficial ingredients for my skin. And it does NOT contain any parabens!

Glominerals Foundation retails for $40 for 1.4 oz, this is comparable to other high end foundations like Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation ($35 for 1 oz) or MUFE HD Foundation ($42 for 1.01 oz). It can be purchased online a few different retailers. I bought mine on sale at Apothica.com for $24 (looks like only certain shades are on sale HERE). You can also buy it at their official website, Dermstore or even Amazon which seems to be the cheapest (around $22).

I LOVE the packaging, you can squeeze it out of the tube and really control how much product you want. This is so much more convenient then foundations that come in a bottle where you have to pour it out.

They have a WIDE range of colors, 16 colors ranging from light to dark in cool/warm/neutral shades. I choose beige-light because that was the lightest shade recommend for cool-toned skin. As you see in the photo below it’s a pretty good match but I have to make sure to blend really well around my jawline otherwise you can notice the color difference from my neck. The natural-fair shade might’ve been better for me, if I ever buy this foundation again I get that shade instead. The swatch above is on my hand which is darker than my face.

(random side note, I just noticed my hands are dark than my arms...UGHH I never stay in the sun and I always wear long sleeve to work. So I guess just walking to and from my car everyday made my hands darker, I need to start using a hand cream with SPF!)

Here's a picture before and after foundation so you get an idea of the coverage. In the first picture I'm not wearing anything on my face except moisturizer, I have lots of acne scars :/ and in the second photo I just wearing the foundation and you can see it covers my scars really well! My skin doesn't look completely flawless but I still really like the coverage.

This foundation can be applied however you please, with your fingers or a brush. My favorite why to apply it is either with a beauty blender or with my Sonia Kashuk Flat Top Kabuki brush. It blends effortlessly and gives really good coverage. In these photos I applied it with a damp beauty blender.

I really like this foundation, it covers my redness/scars and gives me a nice luminous finish. I love how lightweight it feels, I can't "feel" it on my skin at all. It lasts all day on me with or without a primer (I've been testing a lot of different primers and the results are always the same). I can go all day at work (9 hours) and my foundation still looks great. If I'm going out the same night I will usually just touch up my face with a powder.

I would definitely recommend Glominerals Protective Liquid Foundation Satin II! I love that it contains beneficial ingredients, the coverage is great and buildable, feels lightweight and is long lasting! I won't be repurchasing it soon because I want to try other foundations (like Urban Decay's new Naked Skin) but I would if I didn't find something else I liked. Also, if even though it is priced like a high end foundation you can find it for cheaper like I did...which makes it even better! So what do you think of this foundation? Thanks for reading and I hope this review was helpful!
