Last time I reviewed a LUSH Fresh Face Mask (Oatifix, read the review here) I was a total noob and thought my mask didn’t expire of like 6 months. I actually used the mask a month after it was expired *face palm* - nothing happened and seemed like it still worked well (but please don’t make my mistake lol). These masks are made with fresh ingredients and only last 2 weeks! I want to try all of LUSH’s Fresh Face Mask at least once to see which I like the best for my skin. Cosmetic Warrior is recommended for break-out prone skin...I don’t breakout as much as I use, but I still get pimples here and there so I wanted to try this one out and see how I liked it!
This “effective herbal hero for breakout prone skin” contains an interesting mix of fresh ingredients; grapes, eggs, honey, garlic, tea tree oil and more. Now these don’t sound like they would taste good together (not that that matters, you’re not supposed to eat it) but each ingredient has its purpose problematic skin. Fresh garlic and tea tree oil are antiseptic to help disinfect and clear skin. Fresh grapes and kaolin deep clean. Egg whites and honey moisturize, smooth and tighten pores.
LUSH Fresh Face Masks are $6.95. I got 6 uses out of it, I applied it at night every two/three days over the course of two weeks. I bought this May 21st and it expired yesterday. You leave it on for 5-10 minutes then rinse with warm water.
Unfortunately I did NOT like this mask! I’m not saying this mask is bad and didn’t work, I just didn’t like it that much. Before using this mask I had 3 little pimples on my face, those cleared up and I didn’t get a new blemish while using this mask. That’s good but this actually made my skin dry :( after I washed my face my skin felt very parched and you could physically see a dry patch of skin in between my eyebrows. I also didn’t like this mask because it smells really bad! It smells very strongly of garlic. The smell is bearable (for the most part) but I'm not going to lie I gagged at least twice while it was on my face.
In conclusion this mask was not for me and I will not be repurchasing it any time soon! Good ingredients but it made my skin dry and smells bad. Have you tried this mask before, what did you think? Were you able to stand the smell?
