Escape From Wonderland...

I want to show you guys a few photos from the music festival I went to Saturday night to celebrate Halloween! The event was called Escape From Wonderland hosted by Insomniac Events! Insomniac always puts together AMAZING music festivals like EDC, and this was their first ever Halloween festival! It was sooo much fun and I had an awesome time! I got to see a lot of different DJs perform like Steve Angello, Benny Benassi, Markus Schulz, ATB, Le Castle Vania, Borgore, Sub Focus and more!

Happy Halloween!!!

Here is my last Halloween manicure! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, I'm so sad it's coming to an end today! I think I will be taking my two year old brother trick or treating tonight, but I'm not sure if I will be putting my costume on again (pictures of the costume I wore Saturday night coming next!). For the orange I used Wet n Wild 9021Orange, which is a sheer shimmery orange...I needed three coats for it to be opaque. Then I used Bundle Monster Image Plates: BM-213, BM-222, BM-224 and BM-225. This was pretty much all the Halloween images that was included in the kit, I bought it on Amazon...they have some Christmas themes too if you are interested! I have a little bit of tip-wear here because I had already been wearing this for three days before I took a photo. My favorite one is the pumpkin with the branches, it looks so cute! Well I hope you have a Happy Halloween and thanks for stopping by :D

OPI Muppets Collection

OPI Muppets Collection for Holiday 2011! This collection looks so awesome and fun, it includes six shimmery reds and neutrals, as well as six glitters! Thinking about the Muppets really brings back memories from my childhood, I remember watching the show as a little girl and Miss Piggy was my favorite! Now that I think about it she probably wasn’t the best role model, haha she was such a drama queen and obsessed with Kermit the Frog. This collection has definitely got me excited for the movie, I can’t wait to see it! So today I will be showing you 5 out of 12 limited edition polishes. This collection is supposed to be released in November but I’ve already seen it in a lot of beauty supply stores!

The Beauty Social!

I went to The Beauty Social hosted by Beautylish on Sunday in Santa Monica! I’m SO glad I decided to go, they had a lot of fun activities and I got to meet some new people! If you didn’t hear about The Beauty Social it was a two-day event celebrating beauty with tons of beauty experts, founders, makeup artists, youtubers, bloggers and more! I went to the event by myself, I was really stepping out of my comfort zone because I don’t like being alone and I can be shy…but I’m glad went and put myself out there! It took place inside one big ballroom at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, there was seating in the middle to listen to the speakers and booths along the wall for the different activities. Everything was decorated so cute...pink and sparkly! There will be one next year so if you're interested sign up for emails here, now let me tell you all about my day! :D

FOTD New Hair!!!

It's the new me! Bye bye blonde, hello burnette! :D This is a HUGE change for me...I've never had short hair in my entire life and last time I was a burnette was over four years ago!

Before & After:
Oh look! My eyebrows match now hahah! I had super damaged, over-processed, extreme breakage, frizzy, disastrous hair. I decided it was time for a change, cut off all my messed up hair and now I'm starting fresh! And no more bleaching! This new color isn't my natural hair color (mine is a really boring ash brown) but this was a cool-toned brown mixed with a golden brown. I love the color! I was nervous about cutting my hair cut short because I was afraid it wouldn't work well with the shape of my face but I think it's looks pretty good! We went with an a line cut, it's not super dramatic but my stylist didn't have much to work with because I have to much breakage. But the cut look sooo much better than what I had before!
If you're in San Diego I would highly recommend going to see my friend Ashley Da Rosa, at the Marinello School of Beauty! She did an awesome job with my hair, and beauty schools equal cheaper prices ;) Now I need to get use to styling short hair, it's so new to me! I need to go change all my profile pics too, goodbye blonde Amanda! Thanks for stopping by, you'll be seeing a burnette around here now!

These lashes were sent to me by Faux as a part of their Fabulous People Press Kit, I didn't purchase these with my own money but of course this is my honest review. This pair of lashes is called dark slants, which is apart of their Fantastique collection for Halloween!

NOTD: Candy Corn!

Yum Yum Yum! Another Halloween mani, inspired by the ever popular Candy Corn! Funny how certain candies only come around for certain holidays. I know people either hate candy corn or they love it. I don't love it but I'll eat it if it's around :P I think this is the one manicure I've gotten the MOST compliments on ever. They're bright colors so people notice it, then they automatically get that it's suppose to be candy corn and they love it!

October Birchbox!

It’s funny every time this pink box comes in the mail now my boyfriend knows what it is and says “uh oh it’s Birchbox time!” Haha I think I got some pretty good samples this month...although I don’t love them all, some work really well! I don't like how Birchbox keeps recycling the same products and brands every month, I guess it has some benefits to it but I wish they would switch it up at bit! Let's see what's inside my October box!

NOTD: A Ghostly Night

Woohoo my first Halloween mani! I decided to do these cute little glow-in-the-dark ghosts! I'm NO pro at nail art, as you can see haha but I try my best :) I used Zoya Raven as the black base...I'm pretty sure this is the only black color Zoya has, I'll show you a swatch of it at the end of the post. For the white ghosts I used Essie Blanc, this isn't the most opaque white...I really need to find a super opaque white for nail art, just haven't gotten around it to, any suggestions? Then to make these babies glow in the dark I used Wet n Wild Fantasy Makers Glow In Dark. I used it as a top coat even though it's not clear but still very sheer but only made the white glow in the dark! I got this idea from Sarah at Chalkboard Nails...I love her nail art, it's so amazing! Here's what these little ghosties look like during the day...

Evil Shades Zombie Collection Halloween 2011

Halloween collections are so much fun! I’ve wanted to try Evil Shades for quite some time now so when this Zombie Collection was released I knew it would be a perfect time to finally order! My order did take a little while to get to me, about 3 weeks…but I was so excited once it arrived. Evil Shades has a Blogger/Youtuber Review Set you can purchase if you are a blogger/youtuber, I LOVE this because it’s a great way to get small samples to review and then decide which products you may want the full size of. I ordered two sets but today I will just be showing you the Zombie Collection! This limited edition Evil Shades collection includes 6 eye shadows and 2 Zombie Gloss’. This collection was made in collaboration with Wendi from The Makeup Zombie.

October Julep Maven!

I got my October American Beauty and "It Girl" Julep Maven boxes! I'm going to be sharing them together in this post for this month because I have a lot of other things I need to get blogging about! Before we get into them I just wanted to say really quickly that the referrals links Julep was having issues with are truly working now. I know they fixed it a while ago but I wasn't just going to take their word for it...I needed proof and a couple of weeks ago someone signed up through my link. I was sent a code for my $15 credit without having to contact them first. So yeah, that's the way it should be! Anyways we got some pretty good colors this month, and a really nice hand lotion. Lets see :)

Sonia Kashuk Makeup Brushes Review Part 1: Face Brushes

I love my Sonia Kashuk makeup brushes! These Kashuk Tools are the sleekest, sexiest looking brushes ever. I love the design of the handles, they’re not straight and boring like every other brush. Nope, these have sexy curvy handles that really caught my eye! I love that they are all black and super shiny. They even have Sonia Kashuk’s signature on each brush, but it’s very subtle so it still looks chic. All these brushes are excellent quality, I wash them almost every week and they are still in perfect condition. Only available at your local Target or Target.com. I was going to review all the brushes I own but realized that would be wayyy to long of a post. So I’m breaking in up into parts: face brushes and eye brushes(read that here) from the Kashuk Tools, then Brush Couture and lastly Core Tools. First up is Kashuk Tools face brushes, let’s take a look at these babies in detail!

How I saved $ on Physicians Formula at CVS!

I use coupons whenever I can, sometimes I will buy something just because I have a coupon for it but don't really need it! I also shop at CVS a lot, they have great sales, I love their ExtraBucks & Beauty Club rewards. If you didn't already know, if you join the CVS Beauty Club (it's free) you get $5 in Extrabucks for every $50 you spend...I've really benefited from this because I buy most of my makeup at CVS and I'm already up to over $400 in spendings, ahh! So today I want to share how I got some great savings, and how I kind of "cheated the system." I think I will do posts like these more often too since I'm all about saving money and would love to share so you can too!

How I got these two items for basically $1.05!

Nubar 2010!

I finally got this gorgeous Nubar polish I had been lemming for a long time! It's called Nubar 2010, created by Nubar to celebrate 10 years of making safe and innovative nail lacquers free of DBP, formaldehyde and toulene. This color is so amazing I can't even describe it, contains reflective glitter flakies that just look so awesome! It is best used to layer over a base color - not by itself. I actually discovered this polish because when I saw swatches of Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure I feel in love. But then realized it was limited edition and was so sad I wouldn't be able to have it. I looked for a dupe and Nubar 2010 was a perfect match, you can see Srangie's comparison of the two here.
