If I could only wear one makeup item for the rest of my life it would be mascara! I love how instantly opens up and brighten your eyes…I would always look tired if it wasn’t for mascara. I am blessed with fairly long lashes but I love the way mascara can define and emphasize them. One thing I get the most compliments on is my eyelashes, and I’ve been asked plenty of times if they are fake! Of course this wouldn’t be the case without the help of mascara!
Luckily drugstore brands have stepped up their game and there are some really good mascara’s out there that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on! Especially if you’re like me and need a new tube every 2 months or less. So today I’m going to be comparing to highly recommended drugstore mascara’s from L’Oreal. Everybody has really different opinions and experiences with mascara, so these are mine! Also if you’re like me and don’t decide which mascara you are going to buy before you get to the store…you’ll be standing in front of the display forever unable to choose. So I hope this review gives you a better idea of what you might like!

Hey everyone! So I want to update you all my thoughts about the Julep Maven program. You may have read about the issues going on with the Julep and how a lot of people are unhappy. I want to share my experience since I will continue to be a Julep Maven and have actually had a positive experience with them. If you don't feel like reading about it just scroll down to see what I got in my September "It Girl' box!

This month is Birchbox's one year anniversary! It is my 4th month being a Birchbox member and I've really enjoyed trying all these different products I never would have without Birchbox. This box is all about us, because they wouldn't have gotten anywhere without us! The box is filled with some of their favorite products that represent every aspect of the Birchbox personality...open-minded and multi-faced, girly one day and minimalist the next. Let's take a look at everything I received and what I think!

I've been doing good of sticking to my goal of one look per week for Nymphette's FOTD Challenge Calendar! I was looking at the different themes this week and knew I had to do today challenge: "Album Cover". I thought this would be a perfect way to share some music that I really love but still incorporate makeup since I know most my readers are beauty bloggers. You may or may not know that I LOVE electronic dance music! It is something I am really passionate about and makes me so happy. I love all the different genres...drum and bass, hardstyle, dupstep, electro, techno, trance and so much more! I've been listening to Nero's new album Welcome Reality over and over again since it was first released a month ago. So figured if I'm going to do a look resembling an album cover it should be this one! Here's what the album cover looks like:

Purple eye shadow has a special in my heart. I use to be a cheerleader in high school and our uniforms were purple and gold therefore we always wore A LOT of purple and gold eye shadow! Actually two of the products I used here I've had since high school (MAC Beautiful and the Hard Candy glitter). I really miss cheerleading (well not everything) but it was a lot of fun and I wish I could do it again! I can't believe it's been over 4 years since I graduated. Anyways so today I was sitting around I wanted to play with some purple, it is such a gorgeous color! I mainly used MAC beautiful (do they still make this?), Urban Decay Flash and some Hard Candy purple glitter for sparkle! Here it is and please excuse my very messy unstyled hair...

I have another look from I am Nymphette's calender! Today's challenge was the Seven Deadly Sins...pride, envy, gluttony, lust, angry, greed and sloth. I decided to do GREED! Greed, as you may know, is the desire for material wealth or gain and its punishment in hell is being boiled alive in oil, ouch!!! I know a lot of people usually do gold or something for greed, but when I think of greed, I think of moneyyy! So that's why I decided to use some green eye shadow. Also I noticed I don't have any true gold eye shadows *adds Sugarpill Goldilux to wish list* but I added some gems to represent gold. I kind of want to do a look for all of the deadly sins, I think it would be fun but I'm not quite up to the task just yet...definitely sometime in the future though :)

I hope you all had a nice Labor Day weekend! I took a little break from blogging...I didn’t take any pictures or write any drafts! Instead I spent a lot of time relaxing, watching movies and spent time with my family. Also I went downtown to Voyeur Saturday night to see Bart B Moore, he was pretty good and I had lots fun dancing! So today I'm sharing with you The Body Shop’s Hemp line. I’m always interested in hemp products, I love hemp in any form...if you know what I mean haha! I have the entire line of products; I bought them a while ago when the gifts sets were on sale, so I got them for a great price. I really like everything but there are two products in particular I would highly recommend (keep reading to see which)! These products are PERFECT gifts for men, since they do not smell girly at all. But if you are a lady with dry skin, I would definitely recommend these too.

I recently came across this blog I am Nymphette and I am loving it! First of all, I love her banner...she is wearing a pink tutu in her photos and I am obsessed tutus! I wish I could wear them more often haha. Second Nymphette is beautiful and does some really awesome looks. I was intrigued when I saw she creates a calender every month with an idea each day to inspire a makeup look! I decided this is something I definitely need to inspire and challenge myself! I want to do at least one look per week, if not more! So today's challenge is "Tequila Sunrise" Above is the inspirational photo Nymphette posted on her Facebook. This a look I've seen many people do but I've never done it myself, so I knew this is the perfect time! I got a TON of compliments at work today, people weren't expecting me to wear such bright colors and they loved it!
Oh my goodness I can't believe it's September already! Where did the summer go??? Well I got my Julep Maven box on Monday, and it was still August! Shipping time is incredible, I received an email on Friday August 26th saying it shipped and my box got here on Monday August 29th...fast shipping makes me happy! This is the American Beauty Fall Essentials box. I received three items: Julep Boris & Nicole, Essential Cuticle Oil and Everyday SPF Hand Cream, retailing at $60 total and I only paid $20! You've probably heard of Julep Maven by now, but if you haven't you can read my post about all it's amazing benefits here. Now look at this color, it has the season fall written all over it!
