Salma Hayek has a new line of makeup, skin and hair care available at CVS/pharmacy stores! When I first heard about it I was pretty excited because I shop at CVS a lot so it is nice to see something new! I like Salma Hayek ever since seeing the movie Fools Rush In when I was younger because she reminded me of my mom (my mom is Mexican and Salma acted exactly like my mom does lol!) and I know my mom loves Salma too because she can definitely relate to her! Salma says "My line is inspired by my grandmother, who dedicated her life to keeping women beautiful. My products are designed to help every woman enhance the nuances that define her individual beauty, and make my grandmother proud." All the products are paraben free too. I picked up a few makeup items while CVS was having a Buy One Get One Free on the entire line! This Flawless Mineral Cheek Trio in Pink will be the first item I am reviewing. I don’t have a blush/bronze/highlight all in one compact so I decided to try this out, and the colors looked perfect for me...

Minted Zebra
This is Revlon Nail Enamel in Minted with Konad plate M57 Zebra print! I've been kind of failing at using Konad lately, I think the Konad polish is getting thick and no good, because it was really hard to work with. This was the best I could do for the moment, I was getting too frustrated with removing my polish and applying it again when the pattern didn't transfer right. Anyways, aside from this NOTD I wanted to share with you all this Beautylish article: Skin Care Labeling Secrets that was posted yesterday. For those of you who aren't on Beautylish or possibly missed it! I feel like it is really important to be aware of these things and don't believe everything you see/hear/read! The article is about how The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) have detailed labeling regulations that cosmetic companies must follow, however these regulations are not always inforced. This is a topic that really frustrates me because I am always looking for new and better products...but the more I research the more I realize I can't trust everything a company claims. Companies get away with not following the rules, they can claim whatever they want and the FDA does not regulate them. And this doesn't just apply to skin care products either, it applies to EVERYTHING...hair products, nail products, cleaning products, FOOD, you name it. Alright I don't want to go off on a long rant but please read the article, it lists 10 important things you need to know. So be aware, and it's up to your own personal judgement to decide who and what you want to trust!
Thanks for reading! Do you have any opinions on this topic? I'd love to hear!

Hello beauties! Today I have look using Enter A New Realm from Wet n Wild’s Dream Weavers Limited Edition Color Icon Eye Shadow Trios to show you! I really love this dramatic color combo!

Sunday Funday Swatches and more!
I hope you all had a great weekend, I was very productive but still had time to have lots fun =) My company had their annual picnic today...good food and lots of free beer, keeps me happy! So here all swatches of all the Julep polishes I got in my Julep Maven Intro boxes! Now, Julep polishes are only 0.27 fl oz, which is very little for a nail polish that cost $14 a bottle. Compare the at to Zoya or OPI which are 0.5 fl oz and only between $8-$9.50, almost double the amount of polish for a lot less. I don't think I would buy these polishes if it wasn't for this Julep Maven program, too pricey for me. Also I thought I would have issues with the bottle being tall and skinny, more likely to tip it over but I didn't. I actually think this style bottle is a lot easier to store in small containers! If you don't know what Julep Maven is you can read all about it here! So that's my opinion of Julep polishes in general, lets look at some swatches!
Emilie - Brand new color for Fall 2011. I'm usually not really a green nail polish girl, but I LOVE this one! Medium forest green cream and the formula is amazing! This was opaque is one thick coat, two if you apply it thinner. It applied smooth and is super glossy.

Faux Lash: Colette Review!
Happy Friday! I want to show you these awesome eyelashes I bought from Faux! Faux is a company based in San Francisco that sells luscious pairs of false eyelashes. Faux lashes are handmade and hand-knotted with 100% sterilized human hair and high quality synthetic blends to ensure strength and longevity. They are not mass-produced and machine-made like many others. They are carefully designed to flatter every eye shape. Faux has four hand selected lash collections: Luxe, Tres Chic, Au Naturelle and Runway N°1. They also have this program called Lash of Love, when you buy these eyelashes they donate 100% of its proceeds to organizations that help women in need! Great way to give back and they introduce a new Lash of Love every six months. I bought two pairs, Colette from the Au Naturelle collection and Crystals from the Runway N°1 collection. Today I will be showing you Colette...

Stila One Step Makeup & Primecolor
I bought these two items while Hautelook was having a Stila sale a couple of weeks ago. Nothing really caught my eye but I knew I was running low on foundation and this one said it is a "primer, foundation, conclealer and powder all in one formula" which intrigued me so I decided to pick it up. I didn't want to just buy one thing so I also got the a primecolor which is a "primer, lip color, cheek color & eyeshadow." I'm pretty sure these are being discontinued and that's why they are on sale!

Julep Maven!
Calling all nail polish lovers! I just signed up for this awesome monthly service called Julep Maven which includes Julep nail polishes and products! It is a “beauty editor Sneak Peak Box" where you receive the hottest nail color trends and the latest mani and pedi care products every month for only $19.99. Now, you might think $20 is a lot (I did too) but once you see the all benefits it includes it's totally worth it! The benefits are SO much better than those of...lets say, Birchbox. I’ve been pretty happy with Birchbox but this box is fulfilling my nail polish addiction!

Zoya Lolly and Phoebe
These two polishes are from Zoya's Mod Mattes collection...Lolly is a bright magenta pink cream and Phoebe is bright electric blue with shimmer. The Mod Mattes collection included one other color, Mitzi...which is a very unique yellow/green but I decided to get it because I wouldn’t wear it often. I love these because you have the options to wear them matte or glossy if you apply a top coat. I like Phoebe the most because it has subtle shimmer and I feel like it looks even prettier with a shiny top coat! Both are fully opaque in two coats and dry super-fast! As you can see my middle nail is shorter than the rest because it broke but then my index nail broke so I just trimmed them all...I'm looking into some different nail strengtheners at the moment...I want my nails to stay long already! Also I think I’ll be wearing a few more bright summer colors but I’m ready to move onto some darker fall colors! The first photo below shows them matte and the second photo is with Seche Vite top coat!

Comodynes Convenient Cosmetics: Self-Tanning Towelettes Review
I finally got around to writing a review on Comodynes Convenient Cosmetics Self-Tanning Towelettes. I've tried them 3 different times and still wasn't happy with the pictures but I'm going to post them now anyways! COMODYNES is a brand that sells products that are easy to use, fast and convenient, practical, efficient and economical. This was my first time hearing about this brand and their products look pretty good. They have a few self-tanning products as well as face masks, different make-up remover towelettes and other skin care products that you can find at their website here. My friend Charisma gave me these because they were a part of a gift basket she won but she has dark skin (she actually uses a whitening soap) so she didn’t want these lol! Now a little (okay it's actually really long) story about my life experience with trying to be tan…

WEN Cleansing Conditioner Review
My roommate's wife saw my hair last night and said, "What's going on with your hair?! It's so dry and frizzy!" I had just washed my hair and let it air dry...I said "Yes I know, my hair is really messed right now" When I wash my hair and let it air dry it turns into this ugly frizzy wavy mess. Which I why I always straighten my hair to make it looks nice, but that's just damaging it more and not fixing the problem. She asked me what I'm using and I told her I've switched to shampoos without sulphates and other bad stuff, and using conditioners with better ingredients as well. Well from the looks of my hair she knew whatever products I'm using aren't working and she asked if I wanted to try a conditioner that she is using and really loves. I gladly accepted because I'm down to try anything that might make my hair healthly and manageable!

Breakfast at Tiffany's
China Glaze For Audrey. This polish is best described as a robins-egg blue and is a very popular China Glaze shade because of its strong resemblance to the Tiffany & Co. “Tiffany Blue.” Tiffany & Co. holds a trademark to the shade you see on its boxes and bags, meaning no one is allowed to reproduce that color. Therefore, China Glaze could not copy that exact shade, but it’s pretty darn close! The name of the polish “For Audrey” was inspired by the 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany’s starring the beautiful Audrey Hepburn. Audrey plays the role of Holly Golightly, her personality and confidence in the film is really inspiring and I love the movie. The formula of this polish is EXCELLENT, applies smooth, evens out nicely and perfectly opaque in two coats!

Rainforest Moisture
I want share with you all a shampoo and conditioner I really love for multiple reasons! First and most importantly, they are high quality and work well. My hair is in horrible condition; I’ve bleached and straightened my hair to the point of no return and I plan on cutting it short soon. In the meantime these products are GOOD for my hair and don’t have a bunch of crap in them! Not only are the ingredients great but they also are cruelty-free, eco-friendly and MORE! Let’s get into the details:

GLITTERRRRR!
OPI Simmer and Shimmer. This polish was a part of OPI’s Holiday 2010 Burlesque Collection and it is GORGEOUS! It is a lighter blue with lots of silver, gold, pink and orange micro hexagonal glitter. I applied two thick coats here and it’s perfectly opaque! I wish I bought more from this collection because they are so pretty. The glitter looks so fantastic in person and everybody loves it! The only downside to glitter polishes as most of you may know is the removal. They are such a PAIN IN THE BUTT to get off. Using 100% pure acetone helps but you still need to soak them and scrub like crazy. And the glitter gets everywhere so I always plan on taking a shower afterwards haha! My camera had a hard time focusing on the glitter but here are photos in the sunlight, inside with natural lighting and fluorescent lighting(in that order).

Wet n Wild Shimmer Eye Liner Pencils
Today I will be reviewing Wet n Wild’s Shimmer Eye Liner Pencils! I usually don’t use eyeliner pencils because I find they are never really pigmented and a lot harder to apply. But I got these on a whim and hey, they are only 99 cents! Wet n Wild describes them as: rich, creamy eyeliner pencils packed with 40% micro-glitter for shimmery, sparkly definition that won’t go unnoticed. Fortified with Shea Butter and Vitamin E to moisturize and condition. They come in four shades: Black, Blue, Silver and Copper. The only one I didn’t get was black because I don’t need another black liner. At first glance you may think these are not going to be pigmented and rough but they are definitely not! I was really surprised these pencils are like they said…creamy, pigmented and most important no tugging or pulling at your eye when applied!

Neon Melon
I’m a sucker for anything neon! This is Sinful Colors Neon Melon, a super bright neon yellow! This color stands out like crazy and looks exactly like a yellow highlighter. Every time I look in the mirror the color really pops out at you and you can see this baby for milessss away…okay not really…but you get the point! I think a lot of people don’t expect this color and I’ve gotten a lot of compliments while wearing it! Bad news is this neon polish (like most) is super sheer and streaky, I used 5 coats here and it still wasn’t opaque. Luckily since it dries matte, it dries really fast and there is literally no wait time in between coats. Maybe I applied my coats too thin and that’s why it wasn’t opaque but I like it to dry as fast as possible. But still anything that needs more than 3 coats annoys me. And I swear neon’s are so unpredictable…usually it’s hard to capture how bright the color is in a picture but this one looks pretty accurate and it looks opaque! It’s definitely not perfectly opaque in person. Also I don’t have a top coat on in these photos, because I’m planning try something out using this as the base. Here's some pictures in the sunlight, inside with natural lighting and under a black light!

Wet n Wild We’re Blasting Off!
Today I will be showing you We’re Blasting Off from Wet n Wild’s Dream Weavers Limited Edition Color Icon Eye Shadow Trios! The Dream Weavers collection includes six different trios: We're Blasting Off, Bright Idea, Dancing In The Clouds, Earth Looks Small From Down Here, Enter A New Realm and Fly Me To The Moon. I have three more of those to show you soon! I found these at my local Rite Aid and they are only $2.99! You can't beat this price for these good quality eyeshadows. I’m really loving this trio, all the colors are smooth and complement are other really well. You don't have to follow the eyelid, crease, browbone suggestions, if you want a softer look you could you use the crease color as a liner and just use the other two shadows on your eyelid. But I like the dark eyeshadow in the crease because it's more dramatic, perfect for a night out!
