Physicians Formula is one of my new favorite drugstore brands! I've been buying more and more of their products and loving all of them. They are excellent quality and better for my acne-prone, sensitive skin. Also they are cruelty free! I’ve been working my way to only using cruelty free products...I haven’t officially announced it because I want to use up all my non-cruelty free products first (I already spent my money on them, why throw them out?) but yes, I am going cruelty free :D
I only have one super shimmery bronzer from The Body Shop and I wanted a matte one. This bronzer contains two shades of the finest Italian powder to delivers a buildable natural tan glow. This is shade Natural Glow Bronze and there are 5 others to choose from. Includes a mirror and natural goat hair brush too. It is pretty much matte, but I do notice a teeny tiny bit of shimmer.
Let’s talk about the ingredients: Formulated with 15% certified organic ingredients including jojoba seed oil and corn starch to moisturize and mattify the skin. I’m glad Physicians Formula tells you how much of the product is actually organic, a lot of companies go around raving how the product is organic when truly it is not. So no, this product is not 100% organic, don’t be fooled by the words.
But is this product 100% natural as it claims? I’m no “all natural” expert but I’d say it’s as natural as your drugstore makeup to going to get! They are FREE OF: harsh chemicals, synthetic preservatives, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colors, parabens and GMO’s! I tried researching further, but was having a hard time finding verification. There are definitely no “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” ingredients listed though haha! If you’ve heard of anything otherwise – please let me know! I really try not to just believe whatever a company claims without researching it first.
Now most important part is how does this bronzer actually preform!?! Well it’s fabulous! The texture is very smooth and soft, blends into your skin effortlessly! It is somewhat sheer but easily buildable for more coverage. Looks very natural on, below I just used it as a contour, so you could get an idea of the color. But I’ve been using it all over my face so I don’t look so ghostly white and it looks really good too! Hmm...now that I’m writing this I should have took comparison pictures with and without it, oh well! It has great staying-power too, lasts the entire day without fading.
If you are interested in a bronzer with "better" ingredients I think this is a great choice, and easily found at you local drugstore for around $13.95! Thanks for reading!!! Do you have a favorite bronzer? Have an awesome weekend :D
