I hope you all had a nice Labor Day weekend! I took a little break from blogging...I didn’t take any pictures or write any drafts! Instead I spent a lot of time relaxing, watching movies and spent time with my family. Also I went downtown to Voyeur Saturday night to see Bart B Moore, he was pretty good and I had lots fun dancing! So today I'm sharing with you The Body Shop’s Hemp line. I’m always interested in hemp products, I love hemp in any form...if you know what I mean haha! I have the entire line of products; I bought them a while ago when the gifts sets were on sale, so I got them for a great price. I really like everything but there are two products in particular I would highly recommend (keep reading to see which)! These products are PERFECT gifts for men, since they do not smell girly at all. But if you are a lady with dry skin, I would definitely recommend these too.
These Hemp Body Care Products are recommended for people with dry to extremely dry skin. My skin type is more sensitive but I do experience dryness. The key ingredient in all these products is hemp seed oil, which has an unusually high concentration of essential fatty acids that help to repair skin’s moisture barrier thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness. The Body Shop states they get this ingredient from “A family-run co-operative that supplies us with the Community Trade hemp for our body care range. It is grown using traditional farming without the use of pesticides, helping to protect the natural habitat.” If you don’t know what The Body Shop’s Community Trade program is, you can read about it in a previous post I wrote here. Alright let’s take a closer look at the individual products!
Hemp Body Butter – Repairs dry skin using an ultra-rich cream that moisturizes and conditions for up to 24 hours. Key ingredients include Community Trade hemp seed oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and organic babssu oil which all help to moisturize and soften skin. $18 for 6.75 oz. This body butter is thick and really moisturizes my skin well. It smells very “herbal” but don’t worry you won’t be walking around reeking of weed haha! Since the scent isn’t feminine these are definitely suitable for men & this goes for the rest of these hemp products too.
Hemp Foot Protector – Softens dry, rough feet using an intensive hydrating treatment that locks-in moisture. Key ingredients include Community Trade hemp seed oil and organic beeswax which moisturizes and conditions, also acts as a barrier to seal in moisture. I really like using this stuff on areas that I’m prone to getting calluses and it really makes them soft again. I’ve used this on my boyfriend’s feet too, he loves it and wants me to put it on him all the time haha! I’m so sad I’m almost out of it because it’s really pricey, $18 for only 3.35 oz.
Hemp Hand Protector – This is my all-time favorite hand lotion and I highly recommend it! Dermatologically tested for very dry skin to soften and protect hands. Key ingredients include Community Trade hemp seed oil and organic beeswax. $18.50 for 3.3 oz. I use this stuff every day, it is pretty thick so you only need to use a little bit and leaves my hands feeling smooth and hydrated. This is also one of The Body Shop’s best sellers! Also the “herbal” scent isn’t very strong on this one, so you need to worry about that if it was possibly turning you off to these products. So if you have dry hands or are just looking for a good hand lotion try this one out!
Hemp Lip Protector – I went into The Body Shop and asked one of the sale associates what she recommended for dry lips she immediately recommended this! Now it is one of my top favorite lip balms, right up there with EOS and Jack Black. So if you like those lip balms you might like this one too! Dermatologically tested, softens dry, chapped lips. Key ingredients include Community Trade hemp seed oil, organic olive oil and organic beeswax. It is $8, I actually bought two so I would have a backup but I brought one to a rave one time and security made me throw it away, I was so angry now I always hide my chap stick in my bra!
Hemp Moisture High Balm – Soothes dry skin with a special-edition, multipurpose balm that can be used on any area prone to dryness, like your elbows and knees. Key ingredients include Community Trade hemp seed oil, organic olive oil, organic virgin cold pressed coconut oil, babassu oil and shea butter. I don’t find myself using this often since the lotions work well. This balm probably has the strongest “herbal” scent out of them all. I can’t say it helped chapped or cracked skin, but it’s loaded with essential ingredients, $14 for 1.4 oz. I’ve used it on my elbows and it got rid of the dryness but not any better than the body butter.
Hemp Moisturizing Wash – Dermatologically tested to help very dry skin, soap-free and contains no SLS and SLES. Cleanses and soften skin using glycerin, Community Trade hemp seed oil and soya oil. $13 for 6.75 oz. This body doesn’t really stand out in any way, it obviously cleans well and I love that it doesn’t contain any SLS or SLES, but it’s nothing special and I probably won’t repurchase it.
So that’s the entire Hemp line from The Body Shop, you can find them at any Body Shop location or online here! The two products I love the most and will repurchase are the hand protector and lip protector! What do you think of these hemp products?
