WEN Cleansing Conditioner Review

My roommate's wife saw my hair last night and said, "What's going on with your hair?! It's so dry and frizzy!" I had just washed my hair and let it air dry...I said "Yes I know, my hair is really messed right now" When I wash my hair and let it air dry it turns into this ugly frizzy wavy mess. Which I why I always straighten my hair to make it looks nice, but that's just damaging it more and not fixing the problem. She asked me what I'm using and I told her I've switched to shampoos without sulphates and other bad stuff, and using conditioners with better ingredients as well. Well from the looks of my hair she knew whatever products I'm using aren't working and she asked if I wanted to try a conditioner that she is using and really loves. I gladly accepted because I'm down to try anything that might make my hair healthly and manageable!
WEN Cleansing Conditioner Sweet Almond Mint - uses a 5-in-1 formula...shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler and leave-in conditioner. Designed so it won't strip your hair and scalp of its natural oils and hair is left with sheen, moisture, manageability and better color retention. Key ingredients include: glycerin, chamomile extract, cherry bark, rosemary extract, panthenol and almond oil. I can't find this individual product for sale, the only have the Introductory Kit for $29.95 and Family Size for $39.95 which find here.

You are suppose to apply this conditioner a specific way. On my wet hair she put the product starting at my scalp workings towards the ends, massaging my head vigorously. This felt very nice, I don't massage my scalp as much as should to stimulate it. Then she really worked the conditioner into my hair by pushing it into the hair shaft with her fingers, and she used a lot of product too. Next she combed it through my hair with a wide tooth comb getting rid of excess product and we let it sit for 30 minutes. Afterwards I thoroughly rinsed out the product with cool water and let my hair air dry to see the results.

After my hair was dry I was not really impressed by the results because my hair was still frizzy. I'd say maybe it was a 20% less frizzy but would definitely still need to be straightened. Their website shows before and after photos of one person with frizzy hair and I did not get similar results. Also, after I wash my hair I always let it dry 50% before combing and usually I can comb through my hair with ease. Well not this time, I ran the wide tooth comb through my hair and it would tangle at the ends! I was not happy about this. This product was by no means a miracle worker and I was skeptical about the 5-in-1 formula, those never seem to be the best. However this product isn't all bad, I think my hair does feel more moisturized and I don't see any more split ends. This product didn't perform any better than other conditioners I've used and I don't plan on purchasing it.

Thanks for reading! What kind of conditioner do you love to use?
